BELMONT HOTEL
Historic Registry Underway

ABOUT
Built in 1920, the Belmont Hotel originally served the visiting executives of the Belmont Mining Company in Superior, Arizona. This historic building on Main Street later functioned as brothel from the 1930s until the 1970s under the direction of Bessie O’Brien, the well-liked and respected Madam of the house. Said to be haunted, the space is laden with mysteries of the past. The building remains rich in western mining history and is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Apache Leap cliffs to the east as well as Picketpost Mountain to the west.
The hotel was last used as the Superior Town Hall. Today, the Belmont Hotel is under new ownership with restoration ongoing. Belmont's Gallery & Gift Shop is now open during Main Street's special event days. Visit the Belmont Blog for project updates and videos.

DESIGN VISION
The revitalized hotel will include fashion-forward design elements intended to capture a vintage feeling pulling from Victorian and Industrial Revolution themes while paying tribute to the Town’s mining heritage. To provide modern quality and comfort, rooms will not be strictly limited to period-specific accuracy. However, they will maintain elements of historical ambiance.
Preliminary design concepts are featured on Pinterest.
